We have walls!

Matt and Dallin headed out at 8 am this morning(I love that Dallin boy, by the way) and framed all day long on the house. As soon as I could get out there I went to see the progress. Bri and Kenna came with. It is so incredibly exciting to me. Maybe by the end of next week we will have a second story as well. They got a LOT done today. Hooray!!!

Although you can't see it right now there is a beautiful lake through those trees. We are going to be eliminated a lot of them so we will have a lake view home. I am so excited for all the fun on the lake this summer.

Gorgeous Day!

Last night the weather was insanely crazy. White out conditions. People upside down in the median's. Today however was so absolutely beautiful. And what made it more beautiful was that we spent the day at Harvest Point.

There were several problems that we endured. Forgetting to bring things, broken compressor and generator, Dallin ending up in a ditch with the car when he went to get gas because we ran out, and accidentally melting an extension cord in the fire. We couldn't figure out why the cord wasn't working.... Even through all of that we got all the floor joists on and the supporting wall in the crawl space. I had to leave before Matt but they also got several of the floor boards laid.

Super successful day and actually really fun. I loved the moment when I laid on the hood of the truck and looked up at the deep blue sky and watched the clouds glide by. It was just so amazing out there!

Here are a bunch of pictures from the day!
First order of business was melting the ice from the foundation wall. I didn't get cold!

Our help....Good thing we weren't paying them!

Lumber has arrived

It all seems a little surreal.
The lumber was delivered yesterday.
Matt was told they couldn't get it all the way to the house and so we drove out thinking we would spend our evening moving lumber.
Our first surprise was that it was right at the house.
The second surprise was that someone came out and sealed our foundation for us.
We know it was his employer, Dennis Byler. They are really good people.
Instead of spending the evening moving lumber we started on the bottom plate of the house.
Saturday we will spend a lot of time out there and hopefully get a lot done.
It was nice to just be Matt and I out there until it started getting dark.
That didn't happen until 830pm.
Love this time of year!

Sunday Drive

Tonight we all loaded up in the Expedition and took a Sunday drive out to Harvest Point. The kids hadn't seen the foundation yet. There is a lot of snow out there, but I am hopeful that winter is on the way out. This week a load of wood will be delivered and the hopefully with in the next week we will have a floor built. It is all very exciting.
