First Material Delivery

We got the first material delivery for the house.
Things are finally happening.
We weren't able to get the rest of the foundation dug yet because it has been so cold, but hopefully this weekend.
However, this is all that we need to do the foundation besides concrete.
Matt and I were talking about all the things that are currently happening and I am getting a little excited.
The trusses are already built and paid for, the cabinets boxes are all built, and half of the lumber package is paid for.
It's hard to try and find joy when we have had so much loss, but I am trying and I look forward to the excitement of new things.

Trailer and Tupperware

The temperature got a little above negative degrees and it wasn't snowing so we took the opportunity and moved the trailer out to the farm.
Travis pulled it from the storage unit to the farm for us.
I'm grateful for him.
We put the pop outs out and walked around in it for a few minutes.
It was still too cold to be out there though.
So we went back to the house and unwrapped all the Tupperware that I received from my friends.
My friend, Sharon sells Tupperware and threw an online party for me to replenish my kitchen supplies.
It resulted in over $2200 worth of Tupperware.
I am just amazed at the goodness of people!
This picture is not even all of it.

New Clothes

One of the perks of losing everything you own in a house fire is that you get a while new wardrobe.
I put this on and liked it, so I took a photo.
The pants came from Costco and the sweater was from Jenwood.
I wasn't sure I would like it because it is a turtleneck but I actually do really like it.
I'm being picky about what I keep and don't keep and what I buy.
I am grateful for the chance to be able to pick things I like and that fit.
Trying to find silver linings here.

Home Again

Corban came home yesterday and was released as a full time missionary shortly after I picked him up at the airport.
It was a tearful reunion.
We are all struggling with the loss of everything.
Things that were easy before are not so easy anymore.
Even things that used to bring joy are not bringing joy.
It's hard.
But at least we are all together now as we try to heal and start over.
He has the option of going out again if he wants.
He has several years before that is not an option any longer, so we are just going to take it slow.
I love this kid!

Warriors

My sister, Kelli is so cool.
She turned us into warriors!
I love these pictures so much.
Not only because Matt is freakin' hot, but because they illustrate our strength.
It's been hard.
That feels like an understatement actually, but at the same time I don't want to be a drama queen.
I am pretty sure I have cried every day since Thanksgiving.
But we are going to make it through.
Because we are warriors!

Haircuts

I think it is becoming a tradition that I take the boys for haircuts.
Emer just got finished eating a blue sucker so he has amazing blue teeth.
I love that these boys are close and live in the same place as us.
It's comforting to have them near.
I'm grateful I get to be their Grandma Ninny!

A New Year and A New Start

On New Years Day Matt decided that we should go to Panda Express.
He said he had it recently and it was really good.
And we should give it another try.
I am not a fan.
I am still not a fan.
I got diarrhea.
I won't go back.
BUT the fortune was good and I'm going to lean into that.:)
We also bought a travel trailer to live in.
It's a 32 ft and will fit us very comfortably.
I want to figure out how to put a washer and dryer in it so I don't have to go to the laundry mat.
We want to have something to live in while we rebuild and this just worked out for us.
We are at an airbnb until the first of March and then we will head back out to the farm.
I miss living out there but it is REALLY hard to be out there with just a huge empty space where the house used to be.
I told Matt I didn't want to be out there until something was happening with the rebuild.
He is working really hard to get things moving.
I'm grateful that we still have each other.
