Merry COVID Christmas

 

Guess what we got for Christmas.

COVID!

Matt and Makenna tested positive. I tested negative, but I have been sick for over a week so....

We still had a good time together.

There were pj's, gingerbread houses, tons of chocolate, and the house looked like a bomb went off once all the gifts were opened. 

I didn't take as many pictures as I normally do.

It felt kind of low key because of the sickies. 

Makenna doesn't have any symptoms but Matt isn't really feeling too great.

I think I am recovering from whatever I have had.

Anyway, it was good.

 

Broken toes

 

Matt was driving home the other night and when he pulled onto Holstein, Trapper was laying in the middle of the road.

He stopped and had him jump in the car and when they got home he noticed that Trapper wouldn't pit any weight on his foot.

I took him to the vet yesterday and he broke two of his toes somehow.

We have no idea how or why he was so far from home laying in the road.

But now he is slowed down with a splint for the next four weeks.

He's not exactly happy about it. 

This dog is always getting into unfortunate situations.

But he mostly is a miracle dog.

Universal Yums

 

There is this subscription box you can get every month with snacks from different countries.

I thought it would be fun to give it a try.

The first box was from Italy.

There was some gross stuff in there like ketchup chips, lemon pepper pretzels and some other stuff that promptly got spit into the trash.

There was some good stuff as well. 

The chocolate with hazelnuts was the bomb.

I'm excited to get boxes all year and try them out.

It was a fun experiment.

Also, it is not 12 days until Christmas in this photo.

We just keep forgetting to change the day. 

 

Hayes Family Christmas 2020

 

This year has been different and that means that our family party needed to be different too. 

We did not social distance however.

We filled the Clock tower in Wasilla with tables, chairs, children, gifts and Santa. 

There was a bounce house.

There was Mom's enchilada's and orange bread.

There were gifts for every child. 

There was laughter and connection.

I love this family of mine. 

I love that we can be together with little to no drama and just enjoy ourselves.

It was an incredible time together.

Something that was much needed after this year of trying to stay away from people. 

 

Recap

 

I just realized that it has been almost two weeks since I have blogged.

Not a lot is happening in our world, except staying home a lot and teaching seminary from my computer.

Oh, I also get to babysit cute little Andi twice a week, but that seriously is all that is happening. 

The sunrises and sunsets have been amazing though. 

And last Sunday we decorated Christmas cookies with the girls and Sam's boys. 

That's about it though.
