Morning

This was our view as we pulled on to our driveway yesterday morning. There were actually 8 sandhills cranes that were enjoying some type of breakfast in Hobbs field. I seriously LOVE it out there. They were still there when we leftab out 2 hours later.

The house has only front steps to be put on, two sinks to be installed and appliances to be purchased and delivered. As soon as Matt gets home from Dillingham it will only be a few days and we will be out there. This week I think I am going to clean out my closet, move all the books, and get the pantry mostly taken care of.

I set up some of the pantry yesterday as well and got really excited to see the strawberries are turning red. So much fun out at the farm. Life is incredibly good. School ends in 3 weeks for me which makes me excited as well. I will be able to relax and enjoy the rest of summer.

Island and pantry door

Matt got the island top on today. He is going to still add some corbals under the long side but I LOVE it and it is beautiful. He also painted the pantry door. He is still going to sand it a little so the teal paint that is underneath comes through a little but I LoVe it as well!
We finished hanging the doors (which we thought we did yesterday but didn't), Dallin did all the hardware in the bathrooms and Matt got all the cabinet doors painted. I also picked up our knobs that we special ordered. The girls also moved some of their things into their room. By Monday night the kitchen should be mostly done. Than we just need to get appliances and have the plumber and electrician finish the little things they have to do.

Tons Done!

Today we hosted our first front porch BBQ. It was so nice to sit under the covered area and just visit without being blasted by the sun. We also got a ton of work done. Doors are finished and hung, the island is painted, and Matt was priming the cabinets and sanding doors when I left. The carpet also got laid in the kids rooms. We only have a few fixtures to hang, a little bit of plumbing, stair treads and stairs for the porch and we are DONE! Can this really be true?

Staining doors and HEAT!!!

Yesterday Matt and I spent several hours staining our wood doors. They turned out so great. I am super excited to see them all hung. Matt will probably finish them up today. The carpet guys didn't come yesterday but they promised to be there this morning to knock it out. We also played in the lake with the kids. The water was fabulous! I seriously love that lake and the farmhouse and the greenhouse and the whole shebang.
Today we are finishing the doors, painting the cabinets and island, and getting the countertops sanded. Yay!

Strawberries!

Today I went out to the farm to meet with our insurance agent and get everything covered. I watered the strawberries until he came and was delighted that we have strawberries everywhere. It won't be long and we will be eating them.

As for house updates: Matt and I are taking it into our own hands the next few days and will get the kitchen painted, doors stained, and things wrapped up. We need to get the front steps built and the treads on the stairs. Carpet for the kids rooms is being installed tomorrow. I feel like we are losing so much summer out there. It is already the middle of June. Plus it has been so hot this week that it would have been so nice to just play at the lake all these days.

Kayaks and cleaning

This morning I loaded up B, K and C and went to the farm to clean. A black fox ran across the drive as we pulled in. We tried to get a picture but it was too fast. We cleaned the entire upstairs and I even hung the shower curtain in the kids bathroom. I am so anxious to be there. It's such a great and peaceful place for me. I watered the strawberries and we played in the lake. It  was in the low 70's today. We're supposed to have great weather all week. I am excited for the lake to warm up a bit. We got Corban a kayak for his birthday and another one for the rest of the family. I had a blast in it. It goes pretty fast across the water. We all got a little bit of sun. Matt is still working in Dillingham so Monday I am going to go and order the carpet to be put in  the kids rooms. Hopefully we can get that done this week. Than we just need the kitchen finished and some other random items. It feels so close but so far away.

Hooray!

THERE IS WATER IN THE TOILETS!!! And I may have used my bathroom toilet. I'm pretty excited about that. Actually really excited about that.
And mostly all the lighting is done. We have to go and buy three more fixtures. But they are awesome. I turned off and on all the switches. Yay!

We also have hundreds of blossoms on the strawberries.
I'm going to go clean out there soon to get it beautified. I'm excited. We still need carpet in the kids rooms, light fixtures in the spare bath and kids baths, closet rods, kitchen sink and subway tile, and front steps. Plus Matt HAS to build the built in for the laundry room because we will have no dressers and need to have a place for our clothes.

Toilets

WE HAVE TOILETS!!! They are not working but we have them and they are set. All three. Yay!
Matt, Corban and I went out and spent several hours while the other kids were at the temple. We cleaned up the porch, front yard, and watered the strawberries. Matt knocked down some trees with the skid steer. I'm excited to be there. The painters are still not doing their job. I told Matt she should just paint ourselves and get it over with already.

Weeding

It became necessary to hire the girls, and kind of Corban, to weed the strawberries. I joined them and I LOVED it. Weeding is therapeutic for me and I loved it even more because I was doing it with my kids. I don't think they loved it as much as I did but they made some money so it's all good.
By the way, I did NOT plant those rows.

So in love!

My husband is incredible and he can do incredible things! He MADE this cabinet for the 1/2 bath in the farmhouse. I'm so in love with it and I am so in love with him. He really is amazing. I'd post this on social media but I don't want everyone to be too jealous.

Things are getting so close. I can just feel it. I met with a realtor today to get our house that we are in now sold, we have plants growing like crazy at the farm, and it's summer time! Life is wonderful. Plus the painters have everything painted except cabinets which means that I am going to go clean some areas and start moving things in. Yay! I think I will say that again- YAY!!!!

Two weeks away?

I'm going to say we are about 2 weeks away from starting the transition. Hopeful that the new painters finished by Wednesday. We planted 4 apple trees this weekend and played in the lake. We probably should have been doing some things in the house, but the weather has been incredible and the lake was calling our names. We also had a plane land on our driveway this weekend and Dallin got to go for a ride. It was our friend, Corey Howlett. Matt was sad he wasn't there to take a ride himself. I'm excited for everything that is happening. Soon!
 Flowers for the bees!
 Clear water- white legs!
 Tanning!
Trapper does NOT like being pulled in!
Dallin had a blast swapping the canoe.
