Raspberries and the Lake

Today we all went to the farm to finish planting the raspberries. We finally got it all done. See the sticks sticking up? It's going to be awesome when everything starts growing and we have rows of green canes with raspberries growing. I am excited. We have 250 canes planted and we will be adding more after we get our shipment of golden raspberries.
We also spent some time at the lake and took a walk on the driveway. The weather was perfect. Blue skies with puffy white clouds. AND the painter was actually in the house doing something. I am hopeful!
Here is a shot of Dallin and Corban in the canoe. Corban is SO in his element at the farm! I just keep pinching myself wondering if this is all real.

Growing stuff

Yesterday afternoon, in the rain, I went out and helped Matt and Dallin plant raspberry canes. We probably only planted about 100 canes and still have another 150 to plant. I LOVE playing in the dirt and I also love to try and visualize in my mind what our raspberry patch is going to look like in a few months. Green and berries everywhere! We also have cucumbers up and one pumpkin see has sprouted and the strawberries are loving the greenhouse. This are moving on the farm part. The house part is maddeningly slow. Hopefully the painter (who I would have fired by now if it was my decision) will be done Tuesday so we can go in and clean and the plumber and electrician can finish their jobs. Than it is time to move in!

Photo Dump

I'm so anxious, but we are not quite there. Ugh! We planted stuff in the greenhouse though and hopefully the painter will get with it this week.

Saturday cleanup

We are seriously so close! However, Matt has been a little hard to motivate to work on the house since the greenhouse is completely enclosed now and all he wants to do is turn the dirt in there with his tractor. We went out today to clean up the rest of the construction mess around and burn the extra pieces of stuff. When I left Dallin was working on the remaining trim and Matt was on the tractor. I am not sure if he will ever he in the house once we get out there.
Just a few more weeks, fingers crossed, and we should be living out there.

Saturday fun

See the green? And the porch roof? and the blue skies? and the happy, dirty kids. Ahh! I love it all! The boys spent the entire day at the farm working. The only trim left is the rest of the stair, a little base and a shelf. Just a few things. Than the painter goes in and after that the carpet in the kids room and electrical and plumbing final stuff. Also the counter tops are being cut out and will be in soon. We are thinking about 3 weeks and we will move in.

Corban had so much fun just running wild all day. By the time I got there he had 'ash face' from playing in the fire and had already been in the icy lake.

The girls tried out the lake. It is still really, really cold since it just thawed a couple days ago. Soon it will warm up a little and the fun will begin. It looks like move in date will be the last week of this month. I can't wait!
