Flooring

Today Dallin and Matt laid most of the flooring downstairs. It's beautiful. A little darker than I like, but it will work just fine. I am hoping it doesn't show every ounce of dirt. Matt said once the sheet rock dust is cleaned up it will be fine. I hope so! I think it looks great though and with flooring the house is looking more and more ready for residents!

We have paint!

Last night Matt, Sam and I went to the farm to paint. We got all the walls painted in the nimbus benjamin moore color. It's a grey. I really like it! We will paint the ceiling when we do the trim and cabinet paint. I am excited about it all, but not nearly as excited as Matt is. If he could move in right now he would. We still have a ways to go. However, the flooring downstairs will probably go in tonight. We'll see how our schedules line up. It looks like a real house, for reals!

Tape and Texture

Yesterday Matt and I drove out to Harvest Point to bring more fuel to keep the house warm so it can dry. Everything is taped and texture will be finished the beginning of next week. That means we put the paint on the walls next. I get a little pit of excitement in my stomach when I think about how close it is to being done. This has been a dream for so long and for it to actually be real and happening feels weird to me. We've started picking out colors and talking about decor. Where we will hang pictures and what the built in's need to look like. I have loved every minute of this journey. I am so glad that it has taken months and months to complete. Because of the pace I have been able to savor every new development. Nothing has gone unnoticed. What a miracle and a blessing all of  this has been!
