It's official!!!

Today we signed all the papers and we are official owners of a 41 acre farm in Point MacKenzie! We could not be more relieved and happy about how everything has happened for us. Hooray!

Frozen

Tonight we took Sam out to the farm. She hasn't been there for awhile. The excitement is growing. We should sign papers and close on Wednesday. It will be such a HUGE sigh of relief once that is done. I am anxious for it to come.

We decided to try and walk on the lake. Matt threw a really big rock out to see if it was frozen enough. It looked like it was frozen quite a bit. The rock came down with a thud and so we ventured out a little. It was fun to see the patterns in the ice. We didn't go out too far, but when Sam and I walked by the big rock we heard cracking noises and so we all retreated. A few more cold nights like we have had and it will be super safe to walk on. We'll wait until then before doing that again.

Little by Little or Big by Big

There are moments when I feel overwhelmed with gratitude and in those moments it's almost like I shut down. It's almost like I can not emotionally put enough energy into my gratitude and I just kind of shut down. I think that is what has been going on with me the last two days. So many blessings are pouring out on us and I just don't know how to process it all.

The contractor that Matt does most of his work through has blessed our lives so much. He is the one that put the entire 1/2 mile driveway in and dug the water line. Yesterday when we went out the septic was being finished and the house had been back filled.

I jokingly offered to make him cookies because there is really no way we could ever repay him. It's pretty awesome how the Lord is blessing our lives right now.

We now have a beautiful driveway that is actually a road, power cable to the house, waterline to the house, a pump in the greenhouse, the house is back filled, the septic is in, and we have a little snow on the roof.

I just feel so grateful!

Driveway and Trenches

The driveway is DONE!!! I don't have a picture of it yet becasue I didn't get out there today. But Matt was there and a lot was happening. A HUGE trench was dug and the water and electric lines were laid. We now have a spigot in the greenhouse. Back filling will happen tomorrow as well as the septic being put in and the house being back filled. It's all very exciting and surreal.

Happy birthday and icecapades!

Today is Matt's birthday. We went to the farm, saw the insulation was done and played at the lake. It's so nice out there. Hoping to hear on financing finalization by the end of the week. Keeping our fingers crossed and recrossed. We are anxious for that.

Iced over and insulation

Matt and I left the kids and drove to the farm so he could do a few things before the insulators come and finish up today and tomorrow. The lake had about 1/2 an inch or so of ice on it. Winter has come to Harvest Point. I was all excited to see insulation almost done upstairs. Things just keep happening and I find myself in a mix of awe and gratitude.

We also watched the most amazing sunset together. It has been so long since we saw a good one and I am grateful to have shared it with Matt.

Harvest Lane

Last night Dallin and I headed out to the farm to help Matt move somethings that were in the way for the newest addition to be installed- THE DRIVEWAY. This isn't just any driveway. It is about a 1/2 mile long and it is a huge undertaking. We have some really great people in our lives though and they are putting in the driveway for FREE!!! Normally it would cost betwee $30,000 and $50,000 to have someone else do it. The weather is holding nicely. Still no snow and I can handle that. We have lots to get done before the ground is covered. This week is supposed to be sunny all week.

As for the house, the rough electric is all put in, roof is totally on, all windows and doors are in and insulation goes in this week. After that we get the sheet rock hung and it will look like a proper house! We also met with the ag loan guy and could have the entire thing in our name within two weeks and a payment of only $660. Once our house sells in Wasilla that will be our only debt and we are more than incredibly excited about that.

We have been SO blessed. I feel undeserving of the blessings being literally poured out on our heads!
