Makenna was born in Alaska and has lived here all her 17 years and has never seen a bear in the wild.
So we decided to head out to bear country and see if we could spot one.
Girdwood is known for their abundance of bears.
So much so that this is one of the many signs that line the roads of the town.
We drove around for hours but saw no bears.
It was nice to get out though and the scenery was breath taking for sure.
