Yesterday we reclaimed the greenhouse from the chickens! YAY!!! The weather is getting warmer and the plants are taking over the house and we needed to get those chickens out of the greenhouse. We cleaned out one of Matt's tool trailers and screwed buckets to the wall making chicken condos for them to lay eggs in. I hope they will do it.
Then we loaded up the chickens in the trailer and moved them behind the greenhouse. For this week they will have to be confined in the trailer- poor things- but we will get the fence up and around it next weekend and then they will be free again.
After that was done we raked and raked and moved stuff out to the burn pile. The greenhouse is already smelling better. Matt is doing a hydroponics system for the tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers this year. He decided to experiment with some tomato plants even though it is still a little cold at night. He put together three plants and this morning they are still alive! That is pretty exciting. The next few weeks should be filled with moving all the green things out of the house into the greenhouse and planting. Then the next step is getting the outside garden(1 acre) fenced and planted.
